KAMESHWAR SINGH DARBHANGA SANSKRIT VISHWAVIDYALAYA Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University (KSDSU) is located in Darbhanga and it was established on January 26, 1961 with the benevolence of Maharajadhiraj Dr. Sir Kameshwar Singh. The emblem of the university has a circle with the motifs of a mountain range, rivers flowing down, fish in the rivers, a veena, palm leaf manuscript, a banyan tree, a lotus, a sanskrit tagline ‘स्वतः प्रमाणम् परतः प्रमाणम्’ (Madhaviya Digvijay, 8/6,7,8) meaning ‘Self Evidence is Later Evidence’ and a motto in Sanskrit. All these are ensconced in a circular border on which the name of the university is inscribed in Devanagari.
