MAHARASHTRA NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY MUMBAI The violet and cyan emblem of Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai (MNLUM) has a panel with its acronym crested by an open book and ‘Maharashtra’. Below this ‘Mumbai’ is written. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘धर्मे तत्परता’ (Chapter 12, Chankya Neeti) meaning ‘Zeal for Dharma’ is inscribed below the seal. The colour violet symbolises creativity, wisdom, sensitivity, spirituality, nobility, ceremony, mystery, enlightenment, future, imagination, dreams and wealth and the open book denotes knowledge, language, education and wisdom.
