INDIAN NATIONAL ACADEMY OF ENGINEERING The blue circular seal of Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) has a lotus surmounted by a rising sun and supported by its motto in Sanskrit sloka ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ build a sense of conviction that knowledge has the power to drag us out of ignorance. The name of the Academy and its year of inception circumscribe the motifs. All these are placed within a circle with a pair of outlines. The lotus represents purity, enlightenment, transformation, personal growth, rebirth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty and the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.
