INDIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES The circular seal of Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS) has a hanging ‘Kuthuvilakku’, a traditional lamp made of brass with five faces placed in a segment of a circle representing positive energies, harmony, blessings, sanctity and balance. It is ensconced by a circular border with outlines, has its name on top and five books at the bottom.
