NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL DEFENCE The emblem of National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) has a pair of hands in orange colour supporting three humans in green, blue and red colours and surmounted by a rising sun. Below the motifs the name of the Institute is written in Devanagari and English in blue. The humans refer to different sets of people supported by a pair of hands referring to defence and the rising sun refers to life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity. The colour orange signifies energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness.
