ULUKA

In Hinduism Uluka, Pechaka or the owl is believed as one of the vahanas or vehicles of Goddess of Wealth Lakshmi along with lotus and elephant. The Uluka is considered as the symbol of wisdom, patience and intelligence which can foretell events. The Uluka is also known as ‘Stithi Prajna’ or ‘Unwavering in One’s Decision’. It symbolises and warns one not to get trapped by the ignorance of the splendour of wealth and instead seek inner wisdom. A barn or white owl entering a home is considered as auspicious, as its flapping of wings is considered related to flow of money. The owl also symbolises patience, intelligence and wisdom.
