UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES The Government of Andhra Pradesh renamed Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences as Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences by amending Sub Section 2 of Section 1 of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Amendment) Act, 2022. The emblem of the university has a motif of the epic ‘Samudra Manthan’ or ‘churning of the ocean’ using Mount Meru as the staff and Vasuki - the king of snakes who adorns the neck of Shiva - as the rope, the Devas and the Asuras churning the milky ocean.
