The emblem of Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management (IRITM) has a traditional lamp with glowing flame placed in a circle on rail supported on sides by a pair of  crests of wheat with its initials surmounting and its motto in Sanskrit ‘वयं राष्ट्रे जागृयाम’ (Shloka 23, Chapter 9, Yajurveda) meaning ‘We Will Keep the Nation Awake’ supporting. The lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the crests of wheat refers to prosperity, security and nourishment and the circle refers to motion, perpetuity and life.
