The cyan, red and blue emblem of National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) has a cyan ‘Q’ with a red isosceles triangle referring to promotion of ‘Q’ for quality. The triangle is crested by the Staff of Hermes which is supported by the letter ‘H’ denoting hospital and medical institutions and medicine. Its acronym NABH is written below the motifs. The colour cyan symbolises sky, hope and spring, peace, tranquillity, calmness, relaxation, emotional balance and the red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

The circular emblem of the university has an open book supporting a lotus with a background of mountains and surmounted by atomic structure. These are ensconced by a yellow circular border which carries its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ on one side and its name in Kashmiri on the other side. The motto is written in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’.
