PROJECT ANALYSIS AND DOCUMENTATION DIVISION -QCI

The cyan and black emblem of Project Analysis and Documentation Division (PADD) is a monogram and word mark created using its acronym. The monogram depicts the function of analysis and documentation symbolically and and the word mark uses sans serif typeface without the horizontal stroke of ‘A’ giving it an iconisation as an upward arrow. The colour cyan denotes sky, hope and spring, peace, tranquillity, calmness, relaxation, emotional balance and black symbolises mystery, power, elegance and sophistication.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
