RIGHT TO INFORMATION

Passed by the Parliament of India on June 15, 2005, the Right to Information (RTI) Act provides certain provisions under which an Indian citizen may request information from a government body or a public authority. The concerned authorities are required to reply expeditiously or within the duration of thirty days, thereby following the mandate of giving a timely response to citizens. This law came fully into force on October 12, 2005. The RTI logo is a simple and iconic logo depicting a sheet of paper with some information on it in blue and the public authority providing the information. This represents people’s empowerment through the transfer of information and accountability in the Government.

Its name is written around the gear wheel and its motto in Sanskrit  meaning is placed at the bottom. The mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational equality, achievement, tradition and rights of passage and the gear wheel represents, efficiency, interconnectedness, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure.

NATIONAL LAW INSTITUTE UNIVERSITY The National Law Institute University (NLIU) has been established by Act No. 41 of 1997 of the Madhya Pradesh Legislature to fill the gap and provide the most modern legal education through multidisciplinary teaching and training of newer skills needed for the profession. The University launched its first academic programme in 1998. The red circular emblem of the university has its acronym written in the middle, topped by a yellowish drop of enlightenment, knowledge, wisdom and realisation. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘यत्नवान सुखमेधते’ meaning ‘The Diligent Grows Happily’ is inscribed. These are ensconced in a circular border which carries the name of the university, its place and its year of establishment.

MURSHIDABAD UNIVERSITY The insignia of Murshidabad University is predominantly in bright deep teal tones. It has a picture of the university with its year of establishment is placed in a circle. It is surrounded by a circular border bearing its name in English and Bengali has a cyan border with triangular edges. SHREE SOMNATH SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY Shree Somnath Sanskrit University (SSSU) was created by the Gujarat State government through the Shree Somnath Sanskrit University Act in 2005 for the research and teaching of Sanskrit literature. The emblem of the university has a traditional lamp placed on a bunch of palm leaf manuscripts and placed in a yellow circle with an orange border. It is ensconced by a yellow and orange border on which its name and place is written in Devanagari. Below the circle, on a banner, the motto of the university is inscribed with a quote from Kalidasa’s Meghdootam 20.
