STEEL AUTHORITY OF INDIA LIMITED

Owned and operated by the Government of India, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is a state-owned steel making company based in New Delhi, India. The public sector undertaking was incorporated on January 24, 1974 and is the twentieth largest steel producer in the world and the third largest in India. The organisation owns five integrated steel plants at Bhilai, Rourkela, Durgapur, Bokaro and Burnpur (Asansol) and three special steel plants at Salem, Durgapur and Bhadravathi.The SAIL logo is an abstract mark in blue colour, which is followed by the name in Devanagari and English. The symbol using the triangular form with an upward direction indicates growth and development of the steel industry. The solid rhombus used enclosed within the triangle, stands to infuse high level technical and managerial expertise. The logo has a ladle pouring molten steel held by its tilting arms.

DIRECTORATE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE SERVICES During 1983, the then Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C) under the overall guidance of an Expert Committee chaired by Prof. M. M. Sharma, FRS, recommended that the laboratories in Delhi, Calcutta and Hyderabad must be developed as Science and Technology institutions, functioning in an autonomous fashion. Accordingly, the Government of India declared the forensic science Institutions, as Science and Technology institutions. In the first phase, the three Central Forensic Science Laboratories at Calcutta, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh were restructured into six scientific division viz. Biology, Ballistics, Chemistry, Explosive, Physics and Toxicology. The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. All these are ensconced in two circular borders, of which one carries its name and place in English and the outer one carries its name and place in Devanagari supported by a pair of wheat ears.
