This emblem is bold, standing out and informs one of the university’s dynamism. The shape of the rhombus known as a diamond or lozenge refers to a diamond and it signifies life, prosperity, reward, inner balance and protection; colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the colour black denotes mystery, power, elegance and sophistication.

At the bottom, a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘‘கற்றனைத் தூறும் அறிவு’ (Thiruvalluvar, 396, Thirukkural) meaning ‘Knowledge Grows As Much As One Learns’ is inscribed is placed on the seal. Athiyaman and Avvaiyar refer to history and heritage; the book, sun and the humans refer to education and educational achievement; the tree refers to nature, sustenance and growth; the computer refers to technology; and the dam refers to the local landmark.
