ELECTRONICS CORPORATION OF INDIA LIMITED

Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) was founded by Dr. A.S. Rao, under the Department of Atomic Energy on April 11, 1967 with a view to generate strong indigenous capability in the field of professional grade electronics. ECIL pioneered the development of various complex electronics products like the first digital computer, first control and instrumentation of nuclear power plants, first earth station antenna, first electronic voting machines etc. ECIL has evolved over the years as a multiproduct company serving multiple sectors of the Indian economy with an emphasis on import of country substitution and development of products and services that are of economic and strategic significance to the country. The logo of ECIL is a word mark with its acronym of the organisation’s name is ‘EC’ written in English and ‘ईका’ in Devanagari script.

Its emblem has a sixteen petalled lotus drawn like a 'rangoli' holding an orange circle having its name written in a Devanagari looking typeface, in which ‘o’s are treated as cut vegetable and tomato and ‘l’ like a stem of cereal. On the border around the circle, its tagline ‘Let’s Bring the Goodness Back!’ is written.
