A nationwide plan in India to provide good all-weather road connectivity to unconnected villages, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) is a centrally sponsored scheme that was introduced in 2000 by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The scheme operates under the authority of the Ministry of Rural Development and was started on December 25, 2000. The logo of PMGSY depicts a rural road in black on an orange background with a grey border.
