National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCC) is a ‘Mini Ratna Category-I’ company established on January 9, 1957 as a premier company in the construction category to create the necessary infrastructure for the economic development of the country in the core sectors of irrigation and water resources as well as power and heavy industries. NPCC is specialised in the fields such as township and buildings, surface transport projects, dams, weirs, project management consultancy, thermal power projects and hydroelectric projects. The logo of NPCC is designed with a pyramid structure using shades of blue. The abbreviation of the organisation’s name NPCC is written in English, while ‘एनपीसीसी’ is mentioned in Devanagari. The company’s tagline ‘Project Eecellence Since 1957’ is placed just below logo.

PARAVANI The Paravani, Mayil, Mayura or the peacock is the vahana or vehicle of the Lord Karthikeya, Murugan, Subrahmanya, Skanda, Kumara, Saravana, Arumukha, Devasenapati, Shanmukha, Kathirvela, Guha or Swaminatha. The legend has it that the demon king Surapadman, with the boon he received from the gods had become invincible. He believed that he was immortal and began tormenting all across the universe. Lord Kartikeya confronted the Surapadman and he evaded the Lord’s attacks. The demon transformed himself into a large tree near Tiruchendur. Lord Kartikeya using his Vel, the divine spear struck the tree and split Surapadman into two halves.
