National Informatics Centre Services Inc. (NSCSI) was incorporated in 1995 as Section-25 (now Section-8 under Companies Act 2013) company under National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India for providing and procuring IT solutions for multiple e-governance projects undertaken by NIC, MeiTy, governments and government organisations (like Public Sector Undertakings). Its emblem is derived from the emblem of NIC by adding SI in the form of reverse lettering in blue.

The emblem of the university has a motif of a pair of green flying birds motif supporting the acronym of the name and place of the university are placed in a circular orange vignette background. These are ensconced by a half white and half red border which bears the name of the university in English and Devanagari respectively. The insignia of the institution has a innumerable concentric petalled lotus in a red circle encircled by its name and motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञान पंथ कृपान कै धारा’ meaning ‘Cult of Knowledge is Through the Blessings’ and is ensconced in a blue gear wheel turning clockwise. INDIAN ASSOCIATION FOR THE CULTIVATION OF SCIENCE Founded on July 29, 1876 by Dr Mahendra Lal Sircar, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is the oldest institute in India devoted to the pursuit of fundamental research in the frontier areas of basic sciences. Professor C V Raman worked at IACS during 1907 to 1933, and it is here that he discovered the celebrated effect that bears his name and for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.
