BHARAT SCOUTS AND GUIDES

The Boy Scout Movement had a simple start in the year 1907 when a Maj. General of Army Lord Baden Powell conducted an experimental camp in Brown Sea Island in England with 20 boys. Lord Baden Powell decided to start a movement for Girls with the help of his sister Agnes Baden Powell. Scouting started in India in the year 1909, when Captain T. H. Baker established the first Scout Troop in Bangalore. After the independence of our country, efforts were made for unification of the Scout and Guide Associations functioning in India. The final merger took place on November 7, 1950 and the unified organisation came into existence under the name The Bharat Scouts and Guides. The Girl Guides Association formally joined the Bharat Scouts and Guides a little later on August 15, 1951. Its emblem has a green colour background with yellow details. Ashoka Chakra is placed in the centre placed over the fleur-de-lis (flower and lily)- the international emblem of Scouting. Ashoka Chakra is meant to emphasize all India character of the Movement. The superimposed trefoil (three-lobed leaves) represents the guide wing of the Bharat Scouts and Guides.

DAKSHIN BIHAR GRAMIN BANK Dakshin Bihar Gramin Bank (DBGB) is a Regional Rural Bank (RRB) founded on January 1, 2019. It was formed by amalgamating two RRBs of Bihar viz. Madhya Bihar Gramin Bank (MBGB) and Bihar Gramin Bank (BGB). DBGB is sponsored by Punjab National Bank (PNB). The emblem of the bank has a motif of three leaf-like designs in yellow inscribed with ‘D’, ‘BG’ and ‘B’ - the bank's acronym on the leaves. This is supported by a pair of crowns of wheat in yellow colour with their stem crossed. All these are supported by a green oval background. Its motto is written in Devanagari ‘ग्रामीण विकास हमारी प्रतिबद्धता’ on top and in English ‘Committed to Rural Development’ at the bottom of the red border surrounding the emblem separated by yellow dots. Green denotes hope, freedom, agriculture, nature and fertility and yellow denotes happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity. INDIRA GANDHI RASHTRIYA MANAV SANGRAHALAYA A nucleus of a 'National Museum of Man' began functioning from New Delhi from March 21, 1977 as part of the Anthropological Survey of India. In 1978 it was separated from the Anthropological Survey of India and declared as an Independent Subordinate Office of the Department of Culture, Government of India. In March 1985 the Museum was renamed as Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, which was later through a Cabinet decision named after Indira Gandhi as Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS). For international perspective the term ‘National Museum of Mankind’ was adopted. Its logo has a slender dancing girl stylistically depicted in tribal art form in red on a background of yellow.

PRADHAN MANTRI JAN AUSHADHI PARIYOJANA Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) is a campaign launched in November 2008 by the Department of Pharmaceuticals Government of India in association with Central Pharma Public Sector Undertaking, to provide quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses through dedicated outlets called ‘Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra’ branded as ‘Jan Aushadhi’. These provide generic medicines at lowest prices. The potency of these medicines are same as compared to expensive branded medicines available in the open market. Bureau of Pharma PSUs of India (BPPI) is the implementation agency for PMBJP. The four coloured logo has symbols and Devanagari words. The symbol consists of two joyous persons in blue colour, in the backdrop of a bottle of medicine in fresh green colour and ensconced by a circle. The name of the scheme is written in fresh green, Orange and blue colours.

KARNATAKA POLICE Police in Karnataka were called by various names in different regions. After initiation of policing, they were initially called Thoti, Talwar, Umbalidhar, Kattubidi, Neeraganti etc. The police primarily with policing used to do other jobs entrusted to them. JAL JEEVAN MISSION Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) was launched by the Government of India on August15, 2019 in partnership with the States, to enable every household in villages to have Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) in the next 5 years. It is envisaged that with FHTC, each household will have supply of potable water (at least 55 lpcd as prescribed in BIS 10500:2012) on regular and long-term basis. To implement the mission, institutional arrangements at various levels have been made and State’s PHE and RWS Departments are to play a critical role. They have to help Gram Panchayat (GP) and / or its sub-committee to plan, implement, manage, operate and maintain its in-village water supply systems. The monochrome logo in bright blue colour has a silhouetted tap with flowing water with the background of a water drop.
