INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE
Indian Institute of Science (IISc) came into existence on May 27, 1909 in Bangalore following a vesting order and resolution passed by the government of India to establish the Institute. In August 2019 IISc got a new logo. The new seal is a refined version of IISc’s traditional emblem made compatible with modern digital media. The current logo is six pointed hexagram (greek) or sexagram (Latin) created using strokes of orange, bright green and blue is fresh, is used to conjure spiritual forces. The acronym of the name is written in black in upper and lowercase letters.

CHENNAI ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE (CASC) The emblem of Chennai Arts and Science College (CASC) features a yellow shield with green outlines inscribed with the monogram of the initials of ‘CASC’ depicting a diagram of an atom. The shield is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college. The seal is supported on the sides by a pair of laurels and an open book at the bottom. Below these, the motto of the college ‘Passion Perseverance Excellence’ is inscribed on a golden banner. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the atomic structure refer to science; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the book refers to education, learning and wisdom; and the colour yellow signifies happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity.

PALLAVA DYNASTY - BULL The Pallava Dynasty existed from 275 CE to 897 CE, ruling a significant portion of the Deccan, also known as Thondaimandalam. The dynasty rose to prominence after the downfall of the Satavahana dynasty, with whom they had formerly served as feudatories. The Pallavas became a major South Indian power during the reign of Mahendravarman I(600–630 CE) and Narasimhavarman I (630–668 CE), dominating for about 600 years, until the end of the 9th century. Kancheepuram served as the capital of the Pallava kingdom.  They developed the Pallava script, from which, Grantha ultimately took form. This script eventually gave rise to several other Southeast Asian scripts such Khmer. The Chinese traveller Xuanzang visited Kanchipuram during Pallava rule and extolled their benign rule. DESH BHAGAT UNIVERSITY The orange and blue emblem of Desh Bhagat University (DBU) has a nib of a pen divided into three vertical parts denoting research, innovation and entrepreneurship, with its acronym ‘DBU’ written on it. An orange flame is placed above the nib and its year of inception is placed below the nib. Its name is written in blue on its right and below this its motto is written in orange. ALIGARH MUSLIM UNIVERSITY Aligarh Muslim University grew out of the work of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. Raja Jai Kishan helped Sir Syed in establishing the university. The British decision to replace the use of Persian in 1842 for government employment and as the language of Courts of Law caused deep anxiety among Muslims of the sub-continent. His purpose for the establishment of the Scientific Society in 1864, in Aligarh. Sir Syed's son, Syed Mahmood, who was an alumnus of Cambridge prepared a proposal for an independent university to the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College Fund Committee upon his return from England in 1872. Syed Mahmood continued to work along with his father in founding the college. By 1920 the college was transformed into the Aligarh Muslim University.
