Indian Institute of Science (IISc) came into existence on May 27, 1909 in Bangalore following a vesting order and resolution passed by the government of India to establish the Institute. In August 2019 IISc got a new logo. The new seal is a refined version of IISc’s traditional emblem made compatible with modern digital media. The current logo is six pointed hexagram (greek) or sexagram (Latin) created using strokes of orange, bright green and blue is fresh, is used to conjure spiritual forces. The acronym of the name is written in black in upper and lowercase letters.
