PARUL UNIVERSITY
Parul University, since its inception in 1993 to the point of its recognition as university in the year 2015, has grown into one of India’s leading academic Institutions. The University is an amalgamation of 20 faculties and 36 institutes, with a plethora of diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programs in numerous disciplines. Its emblem is a tricolour - yellow, blue and red shield held by a pair of lions and supported by a banner. The Lotus is symbolic of the purity that comes with the purpose that our students serve to all of humanity after studying in the university. The holding hands signify the element of togetherness, that the journey of education is about the students walk together. The book stands as a symbol of the reflection of knowledge with every page turned, opening new horizons of knowledge. The lamp is significant in the transition from darkness to light, where the knowledge brings enlightenment into the lives of the students. The lions stand as a symbol of the strength and courage, the strength to grow and the courage to explore new dimensions of education. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्‘ meaning ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ is written atop the shield.

MANKOLAM Mankolam, the abstract image of mango and the paisley design is shaped like a mango and associated with Lord Ganesha. Mangos are the sweetest of fruits, symbolizing auspiciousness and the happy fulfillment of legitimate worldly desires. In Sanskrit the design is known as mankolam and has long been used in India. In Tamil, ‘ma’ means Mango and kolam means rangoli pattern, suggesting a possible Tamil origin for the Sanskrit word.

PARAVANI The Paravani, Mayil, Mayura or the peacock is the vahana or vehicle of the Lord Karthikeya, Murugan, Subrahmanya, Skanda, Kumara, Saravana, Arumukha, Devasenapati, Shanmukha, Kathirvela, Guha or Swaminatha. The legend has it that the demon king Surapadman, with the boon he received from the gods had become invincible. He believed that he was immortal and began tormenting all across the universe. Lord Kartikeya confronted the Surapadman and he evaded the Lord’s attacks. The demon transformed himself into a large tree near Tiruchendur. Lord Kartikeya using his Vel, the divine spear struck the tree and split Surapadman into two halves. The demon sought forgiveness from the Lord and transformed the halves into Mayil or peacock and a rooster. KAVIKULAGURU KALIDAS SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU) was established on September 18, 1997. It is named to pay rich tribute to legendary Sanskrit Mahakavi Kalidas. The logo of university has the ‘samai’ that is the lamp in the centre symbolising that Sanskrit is like the lamp that is mild yet powerfully showing the path of knowledge though its peculiar qualities like calmness, sacredness and guiding force. Books are the representation of the treasure of Sanskrit language. These sciences are symbolised as petals of a flower. The tagline ‘राष्ट्रहिताय संकृत्म्म्’ is the basis of the logo. It puts forward the intention of being a nation lover at the same time being a world citizen by constantly contributing to nation building. Two lotus buds surround the slogan represent the students and learners who are keen on learning the language.
