NATIONAL HEALTH MISSION

The National Health Mission (NHM) encompasses its two sub-missions, The National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and The National Urban Health Mission (NUHM). The main programmatic components include health system strengthening, Reproductive-Maternal- Neonatal-Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A) and communicable and non-communicable diseases. Its emblem is a pictorial with a red colour segment of an oval serving as a shelter, in which the icons of a family - a man, a girl child and a woman are shown. Above them a yellow sun is shining. The name of the mission is written above the oval in English and at the bottom in Devanagari in black.
