NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNICAL TEACHERS TRAINING & RESEARCH, CHANDIGARH

The National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research Chandigarh (NITTTR, Chandigarh) is one of these four NITTTRs, started in collaboration with the Royal Netherlands Government. It was designed to meet the requirements of developing polytechnic education in the northern region covering the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Delhi and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. The logo of NITTTR is an interesting combination of motifs and text in red and black. An ellipse bears a pencil and a gear. This is circumscribed by another ellipse in red lines and dots meaning from ideas to production. The red patch in the background resembling the wing of a hawk means determination in learning and transformation on a continuous basis. The tagline ‘Teaming Together’ is placed on the left top of the emblem and the acronym and place are placed on the right bottom. The ‘T’s in the acronym resemble humans for learning and teaching.

DR. SHYAMA PRASAD MUKHERJEE UNIVERSITY The emblem of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University (DSPMU) is placed on a 32 petal lotus flower spread in a circle. The motifs of a triangle intersecting a circle houses an open book on which the year of its establishment is written. The national emblem Ashoka Chakra surmounts these motifs and a pair of laurels support them. All these are placed in a circle and the circle has a border with red outlines. The border carries the motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ and the name of the university in Devanagari.
