The red and pink emblem of Maa Shakumbhari University (MSU) has a circle with green outline houses the motifs of an open book, a gear wheel, an electronic circuit, water, a pair of laurels, monogram of its acronym and its year of establishment. This circle is placed on a pink lotus with 8 petals. These are ensconced by a red circular border, on which its name is inscribed in Devanagari and its motto in Sanskrit ‘तेजस्विनावधीतमस्तु’ (Dialogue between Nachiketa and Yamacharya, 19, Canto 3, Part 3, Katha Upanishad, Krishna Yajur Veda) meaning ‘May our Study be Vigorous and Effective’. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the open book represents education, knowledge, learning and wisdom; the electronic circuit represents science; the laurels symbolise ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the water denotes purity and the source of life; the lotus symbolises purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the colour pink symbolises femininity, youth, good health, playfulness and the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

SOUTH CENTRAL ZONE CULTURAL CENTRE The  South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC), Nagpur one of the seven zonal cultural centres in India was  established in 1986 with its headquarters at Nagpur. It comprises the linguistically different States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Each of these States has rich traditions of folk, tribal, fine arts and crafts. Its logo has seven round cornered squares with black border of which one in the centre is filled with blue and the others with white. On top of this ‘Madhydakshini’ is written on Dwvanagari meaning ‘Southern Central’ is written in black.

INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL CENTRE FOR THE ARTS The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) was established in 1987 as an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Culture, as a centre for research, academic pursuit and dissemination in the field of the arts. Its scope covers archaeology and anthropology to the visual and performing arts, enveloping them in a complementary and non-demarcated vision. In its functioning, the IGNCA has met its mandate and continues to work in this direction. The IGNCA has six functional units - Kala Nidhi, the library; Kala Kosa, the study and publication of fundamental texts in Indian languages; Janapada Sampada - lifestyle studies; Kaladarsana - the executive unit; Cultural Informatics Lab - which applies technology tools for cultural preservation and propagation and Sutradhara - the administrative section . Its logo has eight square bars each with three bents interlocking and creating an unique Indian design pattern.

NORTH ZONE CULTURAL CENTRE The North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) is located in Sheesh Mahal, Patiala. Patiala is the city of gardens and universities. It was inaugurated on November 6, 1985. The Centre has been registered under the registration of Societies Act 1860. The NZCC is one of the seven cultural centers established in the country to strengthen the ancient roots of Indian culture and evolve and enrich composite national culture. The Centre comprises regions from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttrakhand, Rajasthan and Union Teritory Chandigarh. Its logo has a pentagonal tribal motif representing five major regions of the centre depicted in the form of a tile over orange background.

CHERA DYNASTY The  Chera Dynasty was one of the Tamil dynasties in and before the Sangam period history of the State of Kerala and the Kongu Nadu region of Western Tamilnadu in southern India. Together with the Tamil dynasties of Cholas of Uraiyur, (Tiruchirappalli) and the Pandyas of Madurai, the early Cheras were known as one of the three major powers (muvendar) of ancient Tamizhagam in the early centuries of the Common Era. Bow and arrow is the symbol of Chera dynasty and this is found in many of the archaeological findings and literary records. Nedum Cheralathan was a Chera ruler of the early historic south India, contemporary to the Chola ruler Perunarkilli. He is the second known Chera ruler from the early Tamil literature, and is praised in the Second Ten of Pathitruppaththu. He patronized Jainism and Buddhism.

INDIAN DIAMOND INSTITUTE With the objective of enhancing the quality, design and global competitiveness of the Indian jewellery, the Indian Diamond Institute (IDI) was established as a Society in 1978 with its office located at Surat, the world’s biggest diamond manufacturing centre. It has two campuses, one in Katargam and the other in Vesu. The Institute is sponsored by the Department of Commerce and patronized by the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). The Institute conducts various diploma and other courses related to diamond trade and industry. The Institute also has certification services for diamonds, coloured stones and gold jewellery. Its logo in reddish brown colour has the depiction of diamond cutting strokes and its name and tag line ‘Passion: Technology: Innovation’ black in serif font is inserted in it.

THE THANJAVUR MAHARAJA SERFOJI’S SARASWATHI MAHAL LIBRARY The Thanjavur Maharaja Serfoji's Sarasvati Mahal Library (TTMSSML) is located in Thanjavur in Tamilnadu. It is one of the oldest libraries in Asia and has on display a rare collection of palm leaf manuscripts and papers written in Tamil, Hindi, English, Telugu, Marathi and a few other languages indigenous to India. The collection comprises well over 60,000 volumes, though only a tiny fraction of these are on display. The Saraswathi Mahal library started as a royal library for the private pleasure of the Nayak Kings of Thanjavur who ruled 1535 - 1675 AD. The Maratha rulers who captured Thanjavur in 1675 patronised local culture and further developed the library until 1855. Since 1918 it has been a possession of the state of Tamilnadu. SANGEET NATAK AKADEMI The Sangeet Natak Akademi - India's national academy for music, dance and drama - is the first national academy of the arts setup by the Republic of India. It was created on May 31, 1952. As the apex body specializing in the performing arts of the country, the Akademi also renders advice and assistance to the Government of India in the task of formulating and implementing policies and programmes in the field. Additionally, the Akademi carries a part of the responsibilities of the state for fostering cultural contacts between various regions in India, and between India and the world. It has constituent units, centre and interpretation centres spread all across India. The brown colour emblem of this academy has a horn and a traditional mask placed within a rectangle as a portrait. In between them the name of the academy is written in Devanagari. Its supported on both the sides by its name in black.

NATIONAL SCHOOL OF DRAMA The National School of Drama (NSD) is one of the foremost theatre training institutions in the world and the only one of its kind in India. It was set up by the Sangeet Natak Akademi as one of its constituent units in 1959. In 1975, it became an independent entity and was registered as an autonomous organization under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, fully financed by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Its black and white symbol is the dramatic mask with half of the face depicted in positive and the other half in negative.

INDIAN NAVY

INDIAN NAVY The origins of the Indian Navy lay in a group of ships belonging to the East India Company arriving in Surat on September 5, 1612. However, they only acquired combatant status on May 01, 1830 when by warrant from the Lord High Admiral, they came under the British Crown and the Service was named the Indian Navy. The name Indian Navy changed to Bombay Marine, Indian Marine, Royal Indian Marine and Royal Indian Navy form 1863 onwards till it became the Indian Navy once again on January 26, 1950. The prefix 'Royal' was dropped on January 26, 1950 with India being constituted as a Republic. Its emblem in blue with an anchor crested with national Lion capital and asurrounded by dumbells. Its motto is written in a blue banner at the bottom in Sanskrit ‘Sham No Varunah’ meaning ‘May the Lord of the Oceans be Auspicious unto Us’.

NATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR CORPORATE GOVERNANCE With the goal of promoting better corporate governance practices in India, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, on October 1, 2003 set up National Foundation for Corporate Governance (NFCG) in partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry, Institute of Company Secretaries of India and Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. In the year 2010, stakeholders in NFCG has been expanded with the inclusion of ICWAI and the National Stock Exchange. Its grey coloured logo has its acronym written in sanserif italics bold and its name is written in black colour bold italics Sans serif.
