The red, black and green circular insignia of Kushabhau Thakre Patrakarita Avam Jansanchar Vishwavidyalaya (KTPAJV) has motifs of ektara and clatter (khadtal) of Rishi Narada who is considered as a communicator is placed on the map of the State of Chhattisgarh placed above the globe, depicting the State as a centre of learning. The map is in green colour to symbolise the State as ‘Rice Bowl’.  Its name and motto in Devanagari are inscribed in the border, which ensconces the motifs. The motto in Sanskrit ‘भद्रं नो अपि वातय मनो दक्षमुत क्रतुम’ (10.25.1, Rig Veda) meaning ‘Oh God, Fill Our Souls with Auspicious Deeds and Fill Our Intellect with Pious Thoughts’.
