The blue and maroon emblem of IILM University, (IILMU) is a blue shield with a maroon band on top and a maroon rising sun behind a façade with four pillars standing on a blue base. The maroon band hosts the motifs of an open book, a swan on water in a circle and a traditional lamp. Its name IILM, meaning ‘knowledge’ in Persian, is placed on the right of the shield in serif capital typeface. The shield represents ; the facade with four pillars denotes the temple of learning and pillars are the bridge to heaven from earth and pillar means strength, security of foundation and trustworthiness; the rising sun denotes knowledge and wisdom, life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the open book denotes learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the swan symbolises Goddess of Learning Saraswati; the traditional lamp signifies light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour maroon signifies passion, love, strength and energy.
