The emblem of Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University (MAHGU) has a circle with watermark of its name housing a plaque which carries the motifs of Himalayan Garhwal Mountains supported by an open book. The circle is ensconced by a blue border with golden outlines, on which its name and place are inscribed. The circular seal is supported by a base, on which its motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानं तेऽहं सविज्ञानमिदं वक्ष्याम्यशेषतः’ (Shloka 2, Chapter 7, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘I Shall Teach You this Knowledge in Full Together With Action’ is inscribed. The Garhwal mountain range represents the geography of the locale and the open book denotes learning, knowledge, education and wisdom.
