MONAD UNIVERSITY

The emblem of Monad University has a blue colour shield with a torch placed above an open book. The name of the university is written above the book and three dots support the book. Below the shield its motto in Sanskrit ‘आधारं सर्व विद्यानाम्’ (Shri Vedanta Desikan, Shloka 1, Hayagriva Stotram) meaning ‘He (God Hayagreeva) is the Abode of All Learning’. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the torch symbolises enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the open book symbolises learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the three yellow dots happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity.

ECGC LIMITED ECGC Limited (Formerly Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Ltd.), wholly owned by Government of India, was set up in 1957 with the objective of promoting exports from the country by providing Credit Risk Insurance and related services for exports. SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
