ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE VISHWAVIDYALAYA

The circular emblem of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya (ABVV) has a banyan tree supported by a glowing sun in the background, by an open book and the date of inception at the bottom and a pair of laurels on sides. These motifs are ensconced by a white border with blue outlines on which its name, place and motto are inscribed. The motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानः कर्मसु कौशलं’ (Shloka 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Knowledge is Skill in Action’. The banyan tree symbolises strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity; the sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the open book represents knowledge, education, learning and wisdom and the laurels denote ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

It was established by the Bar Council of India Trust - Pearl First through a Statute of the Goa Legislature. The emblem of the university is a brown colour shield with thick golden borders holding the motifs of the globe and a map of India. The name of the university surmounts these motifs. The acronym of the university’s name is written on a golden banner below the shield. At the bottom the name of the promoters are written. The globe and the map of India symbolise the domain and scope of the university and its range of studies; the colour gold symbolises wealth, prosperity, power, prestige and achievement and the colour brown denotes earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition.

SANGEET NATAK AKADEMI The Sangeet Natak Akademi - India's national academy for music, dance and drama - is the first national academy of the arts setup by the Republic of India. It was created on May 31, 1952. The centre was recognized as an Institution Deemed to be University by University Grants Commission in 2002. The emblem of the institute has a tower carrying the flame on the cauldron atop. The tower is superscribed by the initials of Jawaharlal Nehru and at the bottom its acronym is written in blue sans serif font.
