ASBM UNIVERSITY

Professor Biswajeet Pattanayak established the Asian School of Business Management (ASBM) in 2006 on a green campus close to Chandaka Wildlife Sanctuary In Bhubaneswar. In recognition of its performance, the Government of Odisha conferred on Asian School of Business Management the ‘University Status’ on September 26, 2019 by the enactment of the ASBM University, Odisha Act, 2019 (Odisha Act 4 of 2019). Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach is a fable, which inspired the founder of the university and impacted him. The emblem of the university is the outcome of that inspiration about the importance of making the most of our life, even if our goals run contrary to the norms of the society. The emblem of the university has a pictorial and a word mark in blue. The seagull is flying out of a blue square, supported by the vertical tricolour of India. This metaphor of flight of Jonathan’s shows that if we follow our dreams, we too can soar. The name of the university is placed at right in blue solar serif font.

Mangos are the sweetest of fruits, symbolizing auspiciousness and the happy fulfillment of legitimate worldly desires. In Sanskrit the design is known as mankolam and has long been used in India. In Tamil, ‘ma’ means Mango and kolam means rangoli pattern, suggesting a possible Tamil origin for the Sanskrit word.

PARAVANI The Paravani, Mayil, Mayura or the peacock is the vahana or vehicle of the Lord Karthikeya, Murugan, Subrahmanya, Skanda, Kumara, Saravana, Arumukha, Devasenapati, Shanmukha, Kathirvela, Guha or Swaminatha. The legend has it that the demon king Surapadman, with the boon he received from the gods had become invincible. He believed that he was immortal and began tormenting all across the universe. Lord Kartikeya confronted the Surapadman and he evaded the Lord’s attacks. The demon transformed himself into a large tree near Tiruchendur. Lord Kartikeya using his Vel, the divine spear struck the tree and split Surapadman into two halves. The demon sought forgiveness from the Lord and transformed the halves into Mayil or peacock and a rooster. KAVIKULAGURU KALIDAS SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU) was established on September 18, 1997. It is named to pay rich tribute to legendary Sanskrit Mahakavi Kalidas. The logo of university has the ‘samai’ that is the lamp in the centre symbolising that Sanskrit is like the lamp that is mild yet powerfully showing the path of knowledge though its peculiar qualities like calmness, sacredness and guiding force.
