ADAMAS UNIVERSITY

The Adamas University has been established by Sachis Kiran Roy Memorial Trust (SKRMT) (under the West Bengal Act IV of 2014) passed by The West Bengal Legislature. The RICE Group is the parent organisation of SKRMT. The insignia of the university has a shield and banner predominantly in blue colour. The shield carries the motifs of an open book, five persons holding their hands together, a hand holding a heart and a pigeon. Above these ‘Adamas’ is written. The banner is inscribed with ‘University’. The colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour green symbolises agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth. The shield represents protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the open book denotes education, knowledge and wisdom; persons holding hands denotes unity and togetherness; hand holding a heart represents compassionate, understanding and humanity and the pigeon represents peace and tranquillity.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

SPINTRONIC TECHNOLOGY & ADVANCE RESEARCH (STAR) The emblem of Spintronic Technology & Advance Research (STAR) features a yellow and bluetoned star inscribed with the college’s acronym encircled by fifteen stars in yellow, red and blue shades. On a blue ribbon placed below the star, the name and place of the college are written. The large star represents the acronym ‘STAR’ and reflects the institution's vision for students to ‘sparkle in the galaxy of technological arena’.
