ASSAM SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY

The Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) was established by the Government of Assam under Assam Science and Technology University Act 2009. It aims to provide education and research in the fields of science and technology. The emblem of the university has an umbrella or parasol, a sacred Buddhist symbol representing the dome of the sky, which casts a protective shadow onto the earth bearing the name of the university in Assamese. Below this its acronym ‘ASTU’ in blue and red supported by an atom and gear is placed. Its year of establishment is written below the acronym and at the bottom, its motto in Sanskrit ‘विज्ञानमेव प्रगतिः प्रयुक्त्या कल्याणमश्नुते’ meaning ‘Science itself is the Progress that Brings Welfare through Application’ is written. All these are supported by its name written in semi circular form. The atom symbolises science and science education and the gera wheel denotes interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure.

SANT BABA BHAG SINGH UNIVERSITY The emblem of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University (SBBSU) in orange and blue has a Khanda forming the background for orange rising sun supported by an open book and a pair of laurels on sides surmounted by its acronym. KARNATAKA POLICE Police in Karnataka were called by various names in different regions. After initiation of policing, they were initially called Thoti, Talwar, Umbalidhar, Kattubidi, Neeraganti etc. The police primarily with policing used to do other jobs entrusted to them. RAJENDRA UNIVERSITY Rajendra University, Balangir, recognized by UGC as a State Public University, owes its origin to an Intermediate college setup in Balangir in 1944 by Maharaja Rajendra Narayan Sighdeo, the then ruler of the erstwhile Patna State and one of the former Chief Ministers of Odisha. This college was subsequently upgraded to a Degree college in 1946. It was granted autonomy with effect from April 1, 2002. It has been upgraded to a university with effect from September 1, 2020.
