APJ ABDUL KALAM TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY

APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (initially Kerala Technological University) (APJ AKTU), a State Government University has come into existence on May 21, 2014 with an aim to give leadership to the technology related policy formulation and engineering planning for the State. The emblem of the university has a two coloured shield in blue and greenish ochre colours in top and bottom. Its earlier acronym ‘KTU’ is written in the shield supported by an open book in a circular cut out. The shield is crested with its name in violet. The shield symbolises safety, protection, readiness to overcome difficulties, power, valiance and cooperation and the open signifies education, knowledge and wisdom.

These are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The mountain range and landscape reflects the mighty Shivalik hills and Himalayas that surround the Udhampur region in Jammu and Kashmir.
