ALAGAPPA UNIVERSITY

Alagappa University is located at Karaikudi in Tamil Nadu. It was founded by the great philanthropist and educationist Dr. RM. Alagappa Chettiar during the 1950s. Alagappa University came into existence by a Special Act of the Government of Tamil Nadu in May 1985 and is recognized by the University Grants Commission of India. The emblem of the university has a blue shield holding a lotus and a traditional lamp in a red circular background, supported by yellow ornamental decoration. The name of the university is written in Tamil and English above the shield. Below the shield on a blue banner, its motto in Tamil ‘செயலில் செம்மை’ meaning ‘Excellence in Action’ is written. The shield signifies protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the traditional lamp denotes light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour red signifies passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

KARNATAKA POLICE Police in Karnataka were called by various names in different regions. After initiation of policing, they were initially called Thoti, Talwar, Umbalidhar, Kattubidi, Neeraganti etc. The police primarily with policing used to do other jobs entrusted to them. Mysore State was the predecessor to Karnataka State, which was created on November 1, 1965. Sri. L. Rickets was appointed as first Inspector General of Police. RAJENDRA UNIVERSITY Rajendra University, Balangir, recognized by UGC as a State Public University, owes its origin to an Intermediate college setup in Balangir in 1944 by Maharaja Rajendra Narayan Sighdeo, the then ruler of the erstwhile Patna State and one of the former Chief Ministers of Odisha. CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF TAMILNADU The Government of India founded the Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN), along with eight other Central Universities, through an Act of Parliament in 2009. Its emblem is in the form of a black shield with a crest of flames in yellow and orange colours. The top portion of the shield, which is separated by a horizontal double head arrow line, has its name written in Devanagari topped by a rising sun. The portion below this is divided into three parts with a symbol of recycling materials, a graduating scholar in a halo and a stem of plant shooting from a pair of meshed gear wheels, which are supported by a pair of blue ribbons. The recycle emblem and the graduate are separated by a pair of downward flowing ribbons. Below the gear, the year of establishment of the university is written. The edge of the shield is marked by the name of the university in English.
