Ramchandra Chandravansi University (RCU) in Palamu, Jharkhand has been set up by Ramchandra Chandravansi Welfare Trust (RCWT). The emblem of the university has a golden shield with a thick green border with a golden ribbon in the background. The shield has the motif of a crowquill pen in a white cut out and crested by ‘RC University’. The pen is and the swoosh around it is in gold and green colours. On the golden ribbon ‘Estd 2018’ is written and the shield is supported by a pair of green laurels. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the pen symbolises freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence; the laurels symbolise success, victory and achievement; the colour gold denotes wealth, prosperity, power, prestige and achievement and the colour green signifies agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

The vignetted blue to cyan colour circular logo has a partial structure of atom on top and its acronyms in Devanagari and English. The motto of the institution is written along the circumference in Devanagari ‘राष्ट्र की सेवा में परमाणु’ meaning ‘Atoms in the Service of the Nation, above and below respectively in grey. The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. DIRECTORATE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE SERVICES During 1983, the then Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C) under the overall guidance of an Expert Committee chaired by Prof. M. M. Sharma, FRS, recommended that the laboratories in Delhi, Calcutta and Hyderabad must be developed as Science and Technology institutions, functioning in an autonomous fashion. Accordingly, the Government of India declared the forensic science Institutions, as Science and Technology institutions. In the first phase, the three Central Forensic Science Laboratories at Calcutta, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh were restructured into six scientific division viz. Biology, Ballistics, Chemistry, Explosive, Physics and Toxicology.
