ADESH UNIVERSITY

Adesh University, Bathinda, the flagship academic and research endeavour of Adesh Foundation, a pioneer in health care, medical and technical education came into existence in the State of Punjab in July 2012 by Act No. 6 of 2012 of Government of Punjab, notified under Punjab Government Gazette (Extraordinary) dated July 10, 2012 under Punjab Private Universities policy 2010. The logo of the university has a pictorial and a word mark in orange and green. The letter ‘A’ is placed in an orange circle in a stylised form and its motto in Punjabi “॥ਆਦੇਸੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਆਦੇਸੁ॥’ (Japu (M 1) 30:5 - Guru Granth Sahib: Part 7 p. 3) meaning ‘I bow to Him, I Humbly Bow’ is written above the emblem. Its name is written below the pictorial in orange and green in bold serif capital font.

DARSHAN UNIVERSITY The red and black emblem of Darshan University (DU) has an U-shaped shield housing the monogram of ‘DU’ and three stripes cut through its left top edge. Below the shield its motto in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ is written. At the right the name of the university is written in sanserif bold and thin typeface in black. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery and the colour red denotes passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

VARDHMAN MAHAVIR MEDICAL COLLEGE The insignia of Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) has a burning torch on a Staff entwined by a pair of serpents, supported from the bottom by rising sun and by a pair of laurels on sides. Below these, on a banner, the motto of the college ‘In the Service of  Humanity’ is written. The motifs are surmounted by its name. The torch represents enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the Staff and the serpents represents medicine and medical profession; the laurels denote ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication and the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.
