In March of 2008, the Andhra Pradesh Government created Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technology Nuzvid(RGUKT) by an act of the legislature as a full fledged university which would initially admit roughly the top one percent of the rural students into the three residential campuses. Since admission into RGUKT is based on a ‘Local Best Model’ and uses the rule of reservation of the government of India, these top students have a wide diversity in marks. These students from rural backgrounds get the opportunity to study in a world class institution. The emblem of the university has a happy human in brown colour to represent the top students from rural backgrounds. The colour brown represents earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition. The motif is vibrant, dynamic and attractive.
