Ahmedabad University is a private, non-profit research university that offers students a liberal education focused on interdisciplinary learning and research thinking. The logo has a pictorial and a wordmark in brown and black respectively. It is inspired by its purpose of continuous progress of self and society and the rich heritage of Ahmedabad. This is represented by the pictorial in the form of minimal graphic illustration of stepwell. The stepwell symbolises the relationship between the self and society. At the core of the structure is the self, which must grow with the aim of transforming society for the better, thus bettering itself too. The stepwell constructed deeper into the earth illustrates the university’s focus on in-depth understanding. The channel and doors represent the openness ingrained in educational life, encouraging the spirit of inquiry and the hindered flow of knowledge. The name is written using Zarah Bold in black with capital and lowercase letters.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES JODHPUR All India Institute of Medical Sciences Jodhpur (AIIMS Jodhpur) is one of the six new AIIMS established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) with the aim of correcting regional imbalances in quality tertiary level healthcare in the country and attaining self sufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education. Its circular insignia in gold and blue has the traditional symbol of the Caduceus to represent medicine. This symbol derives from Hermes or Mercury, the winged messenger and a staff intertwined by two snakes. It is crested by its motto in Sanskrit ‘सर्वे सन्तु निरमयाः’, meaning ‘Let them all be Free of Illness’ and below this it is supported by a pair of laurels. This is ensconced by a circular border on which its name is written in Devnagari and English.
