AKS UNIVERSITY

AKS University (AKSU) was established by Government of Madhya Pradesh (Act No. 44 of 2011). The emblem of the university has a yellow gear wheel housing a traditional lamp supported by a green book and crested by its motto in Sanskrit ‘आत्म दीपो भव' meaning 'Let One's Atma Illuminate'. These are ensconced by a border which bears its name and place and a pair of three yellow stars. The traditional lamp signifies light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the green colour open book symbolises education, knowledge and wisdom, the five pointed stars signify perfect harmony among all things in life, with its points providing insight into how we can strive towards achieving this goal and the gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure.

Below the shield its motto in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ is written. At the right the name of the university is written in sanserif bold and thin typeface in black. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery and the colour red denotes passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.
