RAIGANJ UNIVERSITY

Raiganj University was formed through the Raiganj University Act (West Bengal Act XXVI of 2014) on February 3, 2015. It is located in Raiganj, West Bengal. Its square emblem has a traditional Bengali lamp with flame in the middle of a square whose border is divided into four blocks. The top block has its name written in red colour Devanagari and the bottom block has its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (1.3.28, Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘Lead Me from Darkness to Light’ is written. Both the side blocks each have three green swastikas. The traditional lamp symbolises signifies light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity and the green swastikas symbolise well being and good fortune.

An image of Goddess Saraswati is placed on the right and an image of a palm tree placed on the right. All these are ensconced by red circular outlines and surmounted by the name of the college.
