PLANNING AND ADMINISTRATION

The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), a Deemed to be University since August 2006, was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The emblem of the institute in reddish brown has a pair of hands holding an open book and a lamp. These are ensconced by a circular border with red outlines bearing its name. Above the border its name is written in Devanagari. The lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity and the open book denotes education, knowledge and wisdom. The institute plays the role of the mentor in the endeavour of educational planning and administration.

DARSHAN UNIVERSITY The red and black emblem of Darshan University (DU) has an U-shaped shield housing the monogram of ‘DU’ and three stripes cut through its left top edge. Below the shield its motto in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ is written. At the right the name of the university is written in sanserif bold and thin typeface in black. VARDHMAN MAHAVIR MEDICAL COLLEGE The insignia of Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) has a burning torch on a Staff entwined by a pair of serpents, supported from the bottom by rising sun and by a pair of laurels on sides. Below these, on a banner, the motto of the college ‘In the Service of  Humanity’ is written. The motifs are surmounted by its name. The torch represents enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the Staff and the serpents represents medicine and medical profession; the laurels denote ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication and the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.
