Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) - an overarching programme for the school education sector extending from pre-school to class twelve has been, prepared with the broader goal of improving school effectiveness measured in terms of equal opportunities for schooling and equitable learning outcomes. It subsumes the three erstwhile schemes of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE). The emblem of this mission has a cyan semi-circular base supporting four girls and four boys in blue colour with a pencil in national tricolour in the middle. The pencil is crested with a flame and supported by a book. At the bottom the tagline in Devanagari ‘पढ़े चलो, बड़े चलो' meaning ‘Keep Learning, Keep Growing’ in red is written. This emblem has vibrant colours, dynamic motifs and is simple, attractive and prominent.
