Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Limited (KNNL) has been registered as a company from December 9, 1998. The company is responsible for planning, investigation, estimation, execution, operation and maintenance of all irrigation projects. The company is also entrusted with the responsibility of Rehabilitation and Resettlement of the people affected by projects. KNNL’s logo is a green globe nurtured by flowing water. The globe is crested by two strokes of green symbolises the irrigation facilities created by this company.

Its emblem has a red pot of nectar spewing out from a red vessel which has its motto ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’ meaning ‘Knowledge enjoys Immortality’ taken from Ishopanishad Verse 11, written on and supported by the blue globe with latitudinal and longitudinal lines.
