UTTARAKHAND OPEN UNIVERSITY

Uttarakhand Open University (also known as UOU Haldwani) was established in 2005 with the aim of disseminating knowledge and skills through distance learning. The logo of UOI consists of a stylized image of a snow capped mountain range with the sun rising behind it. A river flows from the mountains into green plains. Below these motifs an open supports an icon of a person with a mortarboard hat is placed. The name of the university is written in both Devanagari and English below the image on its blue circular border. The border also bears the motto in Sanskrit ‘श्रद्धावाँल्लभते ज्ञानं’a quote from the slokas of Srimad Bhagavad Gita meaning ‘One Who is Devoted Attains Knowledge’. The motifs of natural elements represent the state of Uttarakhand; the open book denotes knowledge and wisdom and the mortarboard meant for graduates meaning the graduation of students in their chosen subjects.

DARSHAN UNIVERSITY The red and black emblem of Darshan University (DU) has an U-shaped shield housing the monogram of ‘DU’ and three stripes cut through its left top edge. BURDWAN UNIVERSITY Burdwan University is a State University which was established on June 15, 1965. The circular emblem of this university has a gear wheel with sixteen teeth holding the motif of a decorative column standing on a lotus pedestal and supported on either side by scroll designs. These are ensconced by a border on which the name of the university is inscribed in Devanagari and Bengali. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation, timing, order and structure and the decorated column signifies dharma and being virtuous.

GURUGRAM UNIVERSITY The emblem of Gurugram University (GU) has a yellow shield supported by a pair of laurels, crested by a flame and by a red banner below. The shield houses the motifs of rising sun, a pair of twigs,an open book, a globe, a human brain, a banyan tree, robot, WiFi symbol, picture of persons holding a trophy, its name and place and a bow and arrow.
