UTTARAKHAND RESIDENTIAL UNIVERSDITY

Uttarakhand Residential University (URU) also called Uttarakhand Aawasiya Viswavidyalaya came into existence on September 6, 2016 by the Act No.20 of the State of Uttarakhand. Its logo is circular with a shield, a banner and a blue border. The shield and the banner are placed inside the border on a tricolour background. The shield has a blue border and is crested with a red rising sun from the Himalayan Mountains, which are supported by an open book with a pen and bulb on it. Below this a ball of flowers is placed. At the bottom of these is a banner carrying its motto and year of establishment is placed. All the natural elements depict the geography of the State of Uttarakhand. The blue border bears its name and place carries the pictorials of leaf, helical DNA structure, a portion of gear, green globe and a structure of a crystal representing the fields of science the university is engaged in. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; an open book denotes knowledge and wisdom; a bulb denotes sudden insight, knowledge or thought in general; a pen denotes big ideas, freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination, diligence, etc.

The tree refers to strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity; the swans are sacred and are symbols of grace and beauty; the humans refer to enlightened students and the laurels refer to ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication. Its name is written on the right in four lines.
