Punjab Gramin Bank (PGB) is one of the leading Regional Rural Bank in India having Punjab National Bank (PNB) as its sponsor bank. The Government of India, vide its notification dated December 12, 2018, amalgamated Punjab Gramin Bank, Malwa Gramin Bank and Sutlej Gramin Bank and a single regional rural bank called as Punjab Gramin Bank came into existence in Punjab State with with effect from January 1, 2019. The emblem of the bank has a motif of three leaf-like designs in yellow inscribed with ‘P’, ‘G’ and ‘B’ - the bank's acronym on the leaves. This is supported by a pair of crowns of wheat in yellow colour with their stem crossed. All these are supported by a green oval background. Its motto is written in Devanagari ‘ग्रामीण विकास हमारी प्रतिबद्धता’ on top and in English ‘Committed to Rural Development’ at the bottom of the brownish red border surrounding the emblem separated by yellow dots. Green denotes hope, freedom, agriculture, nature and fertility and yellow denotes happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity. The colours, the motifs and the motto are in consonance with the bank's operations and its vision.
