VIKRAM UNIVERSITY
Vikram University was established in Ujjain on March 1, 1957. Shri Ranchod Lalji Dhabai donated the land for it from Barnagar. The brown colour emblem of the university has a pair of outward facing lions from the Ashoka Pillar holding a lotus on water, which supports an open book, above which the tower of the Mahakal temple of Ujjain with a light wheel and halo behind and crested by its name and place are plced. At the base of the emblem, its year of establishment is inscribed. These are ensconced by an arching border similar to arches of the Sarnath. At the bottom, a banner carrying its motto in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’ is placed. The lions represents the great Magadh Empire; lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; water denotes the rivers of the land and its vitality in life; open book denotes knowledge and wisdom and the halo denotes divinity, godliness and immortality. The colour brown represents earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition, which goes well with the brand of the university which it has cultivated over decades.

GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, DOORU (GDC DOORU) The emblem of Government Degree College, Dooru (GDC Dooru) features an open book supporting a candle with flame and surrounded by a dark green banner inscribed with the name and place of the college. Below the seal, on a light green banner, the motto of the college in Arabic ‘العِلْمُ مَقْرُونٌ بِالعَمَلِ’, which translates to ‘Knowledge is Tied / Linked to Action’. The book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the lighted candle symbolises enlightenment and the removal of darkness (ignorance), representing how knowledge guides a student's path and spreads light into society; and the colour green refers to the college’s Islamic orientation.

MANIPUR TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY The Manipur Technical University (MTU) is the first technical university of the State established on April 23, 2016.
