Paschim Banga Gramin Bank (PBGB) was established through the Government of India Notification No.1/4/2006 – RRB dated the February 26, 2007. The logo of the bank is inspired from the Bengali letter ‘প’ and written in extra bold strokes in blue colour, with its counter filled with a yellow circle and a radiating blue lamp. The traditional lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity. The colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, peace, tranquillity, calmness, trust, stability and reliability and it is used to convey a sense of professionalism and dependability. The colour yellow denotes happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity and orange symbolises energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness. Overall, the logo and its colours represent the brand adequately well.
