UTKAL UNIVERSITY OF CULTURE
The Utkal University of Culture (UUC) came into existence by virtue of an ordinance promulgated on June, 9, 1999, which was later replaced by Utkal University of Culture Act 1999. The university’s emblem has the Wheel of Konark supported by a base with its motto in Sanskrit ‘सा प्रथमा संस्कृति र्बिश्वबारा’ meaning ‘That First Culture is Universe’ above. This is ensconced in a rectangle with the name of the university and place in Odia on top and in English at the bottom. The Wheel of Konark is called the wheel of life, dharma and law. It is a symbol of the sun god Surya. It is found on the Konark Sun Temple, which is located in Odisha, India. The temple was built in the thirteenth century and is one of the most important Hindu temples in the world.

DARSHAN UNIVERSITY The red and black emblem of Darshan University (DU) has an U-shaped shield housing the monogram of ‘DU’ and three stripes cut through its left top edge. Below the shield its motto in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ is written. BURDWAN UNIVERSITY Burdwan University is a State University which was established on June 15, 1965. The circular emblem of this university has a gear wheel with sixteen teeth holding the motif of a decorative column standing on a lotus pedestal and supported on either side by scroll designs. These are ensconced by a border on which the name of the university is inscribed in Devanagari and Bengali. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation, timing, order and structure and the decorated column signifies dharma and being virtuous.

GURUGRAM UNIVERSITY The emblem of Gurugram University (GU) has a yellow shield supported by a pair of laurels, crested by a flame and by a red banner below. The shield houses the motifs of rising sun, a pair of twigs,an open book, a globe, a human brain, a banyan tree, robot, WiFi symbol, picture of persons holding a trophy, its name and place and a bow and arrow.
