Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University (VMSBUTU) is a State university located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. It was established on January 27, 2005. The emblem of the university in the colours of green, blue and red hots the motifs of a mountain with flowing river, crested by a wheel depicted like a sun, transmission tower, its name in Devanagari, year of establishment and its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्या सर्वोपरि धनम्’ meaning ‘Knowledge is above all wealth’. These are ensconced in a circle which has a red border with the name of the university on top and a part of a gear wheel in blue at the bottom. The mountain and river represents the Himalayan Mountains and rivers of the State. The sun-like wheel and the transmission tower denote that this is a technical university. The gear wheel symbolises motion, precision, technical and ever evolving nature of the university. The colour green green denotes life, production, fertility, agriculture, environment and nature; the colour blue represents serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour red signifies passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

PALLAVA DYNASTY - BULL The Pallava Dynasty existed from 275 CE to 897 CE, ruling a significant portion of the Deccan, also known as Thondaimandalam. The dynasty rose to prominence after the downfall of the Satavahana dynasty, with whom they had formerly served as feudatories. The Pallavas became a major South Indian power during the reign of Mahendravarman I(600–630 CE) and Narasimhavarman I (630–668 CE), dominating for about 600 years, until the end of the 9th century. Kancheepuram served as the capital of the Pallava kingdom.  They developed the Pallava script, from which, Grantha ultimately took form. This script eventually gave rise to several other Southeast Asian scripts such Khmer. The Chinese traveller Xuanzang visited Kanchipuram during Pallava rule and extolled their benign rule. DESH BHAGAT UNIVERSITY The orange and blue emblem of Desh Bhagat University (DBU) has a nib of a pen divided into three vertical parts denoting research, innovation and entrepreneurship, with its acronym ‘DBU’ written on it. ALIGARH MUSLIM UNIVERSITY Aligarh Muslim University grew out of the work of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. Raja Jai Kishan helped Sir Syed in establishing the university. The British decision to replace the use of Persian in 1842 for government employment and as the language of Courts of Law caused deep anxiety among Muslims of the sub-continent. His purpose for the establishment of the Scientific Society in 1864, in Aligarh. Sir Syed's son, Syed Mahmood, who was an alumnus of Cambridge prepared a proposal for an independent university to the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College Fund Committee upon his return from England in 1872. Syed Mahmood continued to work along with his father in founding the college. By 1920 the college was transformed into the Aligarh Muslim University.
