UNITED UNIVERSITY

United University (UU) was established by the United Group as approved by the State Government under the Private University Act. Its logo has a monogram of ‘UU’ and a word mark in red and blue. The monogram forms a pedestal which supports a mortarboard or graduation hat, with its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्या कल्पलतेव’ meaning ‘Education Grants all the Desires’ is placed below. It is supported on both the sides by laurels. Its name is written on the right of the monogram in sans serif capitals with rounded endings in blue and the ‘university’ is written using slab serif capitals in red. Mortarboard hat meant for graduates meaning the graduation of students in their chosen subjects and laurels signify victory, accomplishment, honour, recognition, immortality, peace and harmony. The colour red signifies passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

BURDWAN UNIVERSITY Burdwan University is a State University which was established on June 15, 1965. The circular emblem of this university has a gear wheel with sixteen teeth holding the motif of a decorative column standing on a lotus pedestal and supported on either side by scroll designs. These are ensconced by a border on which the name of the university is inscribed in Devanagari and Bengali. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation, timing, order and structure and the decorated column signifies dharma and being virtuous.
